ROSIE BUNNY BEAN X LAPPE PUP UP
Valentine’s Day in Highland Park brought wagging tails, puppy kisses, and moments that felt pretty special for us.
When we first started LAPPE, we dreamed about creating experiences where dogs could gather, try our smoothies, and celebrate the simple joy of being a dog. One idea we kept coming back to was LAPPE on Tap, where pups could taste our frozen smoothies straight from the tap.
This Valentine’s Day, that idea officially came to life. And seeing dogs line up for their first taste made it even sweeter than we imagined.
Our friends at Rosie Bunny Bean Urban Pet Provisions hosted the cutest Valentine’s Day Event (with a kissing booth to boot), bringing together the Northeast LA dog community for a day full of love and plenty of puppy smooches. The shop was buzzing with pups (and even a rat) posing for pictures and soaking up all the festive Valentine’s energy.
Right alongside the kissing booth, we finally got to set up something we’ve been dreaming about since the earliest days of LAPPE: LAPPE on Tap. And what made it even more meaningful was where it happened. This event took place at the very first shop we envisioned getting LAPPE into when we started the company. It truly felt like a full-circle moment.
We’re incredibly grateful that Rosie Bunny Bean became our very first retail partner. The owners, Jillian and Michael, have thoughtfully and expertly curated their store with a clear focus on health-forward products for pets. Every shelf reflects their commitment to quality; from nutritious treats to carefully selected supplies that support the wellbeing of the dogs and cats in their community.
You can really feel that intention when you walk into the shop. It’s the kind of place where pet parents know the products have been chosen with care, and where the team is always happy to share recommendations or chat about what’s best for your furry friend. Being included among the brands they trust means a lot to us, and we’re proud that LAPPE gets to be part of the thoughtful, wellness-focused lineup they’ve built.
For the event, we served two flavors that felt perfect for the occasion. Lover You, one of our most beloved blends, was a natural fit for Valentine’s Day. And for the pups stopping by the kissing booth, we also poured So Much Mint: the perfect flavor to freshen up those puppy kisses.
Lover You is designed to nourish from the inside out, featuring whole-food ingredients that support overall wellness with antioxidant benefits, gentle digestive support, nutrients for healthy skin and coat, and natural energy. Its hydrating smoothie format also makes it especially helpful for pups who mainly eat dry food.
So Much Mint brought a fresh, cooling twist that was ideal for a kissing booth moment. Mint naturally helps freshen breath, supports digestion, and offers mild anti-inflammatory benefits, all while delivering a refreshing flavor dogs love. Together, the two flavors captured the spirit of the day: feel-good nutrition paired with playful Valentine’s Day fun.
Watching dogs try their first taste was pure joy. Some approached the cup with a curious lick and others didn’t hesitate for a second, diving in eagerly. Within moments, noses were dusted with LAPPE and bowls were being enthusiastically licked clean.
But the best part wasn’t just the smoothies; It was the community. Throughout the day, we had the chance to meet so many local dog lovers - neighbors stopping by with their pups, friends introducing us to their four-legged family members, and new faces curious to learn more about what we do.
One of the things we love most about LAPPE is how versatile it is. Dogs all have their own personalities and preferences, so there are a few different ways they can enjoy their smoothie.
Frozen Florets:
Our smoothies are frozen into small 1-oz florets, which many dogs love to slowly lick like a frozen treat. This is a great way to help dogs cool down, hydrate, and enjoy a longer-lasting snack.
For the Big Chompers:
Some dogs take a different approach and go all in. Bigger dogs often enjoy popping the florets in their mouth and crunching them right away, turning it into a quick frozen bite.
Defrosted for a Soft Treat:
If your dog prefers something softer, you can simply let the florets thaw for a few minutes. As they soften, they become a creamy texture that’s easy to eat and great for smaller dogs or seniors.
Blend Into a Smoothie:
For the full LAPPE experience, you can also blend the florets with a splash of water, goat’s milk, or kefir to create a fresh smoothie. This is a fun way to serve it in a bowl or even pour it over your dog’s regular food for an extra boost of nutrition and hydration.
However they choose to enjoy it, the goal is the same: real food, thoughtfully made, and a moment of joy for your dog.
While the pups enjoyed their smoothies, we made sure their humans didn’t leave empty-handed. Guests could grab mini Snickers bites for a little Valentine’s Day sweetness, along with LAPPE stickers featuring our logo to take a bit of the brand home with them.
One of our favorite details of the day was the homemade dogtags we created in the shape of our signature LAPPE florets. Designed to match the look of our smoothies, they were a fun little reminder of the day and a small way to celebrate the brand with the people who support it.
We even had a special guest join the festivities!
Local pup celebrity Cherry, the Old English Sheepdog, stopped by to Lappe it up with us, bringing plenty of fluffy charm to the event. If you’ve spent any time in the Northeast dog community, you may already know Cherry and her growing fan club.
Cherry’s visit made the day even more fun, and she certainly drew a crowd when it came time to enjoy a few LAPPE licks. You can follow Cherry and her adventures on Instagram at @cherry.the.sheepdog!
From the Kissing Booth to the LAPPE on Tap, the day felt like a true celebration of the Northeast LA dog community that has supported us since the very beginning. Seeing pups enjoy Lover You and So Much Mint, and getting to meet so many thoughtful, passionate dog parents, made it a day we won’t forget anytime soon.
Events like this remind us how far LAPPE has come in the first few months of our launch! When we first started, it was a dream to have our smoothies available at Rosie Bunny Bean. Today, not only is it our very first retail home, but also the place where we hosted our very first LAPPE on Tap event.
These experiences make us truly excited for what’s ahead - more gatherings, more happy pups, and more chances to share our smoothies with the community that helped make LAPPE possible.
